Indonesia

Indonesia ticks all the boxes as a global MICE destination. With a colossal 673 airports serving international and domestic routes and an extensive highway network, travel is effortless whether by land, sea or air. The country is divided into five main islands and each has its own international MICE events centre. In Java, the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) is the largest such facility in the country and this can accommodate over 100,000 people. The selection of venues varies, offering world-class standards and vast panoramas ranging from extensive ocean views, to lush rainforest landscapes. Accommodation ranges from expansive five-star hotels in Bali to charming boutique hotels with traditional architecture in Java and Lombok. For incentives, beach enthusiasts can go to Bali, or Lombok for white sandy beaches, while a hike to Mount Bromo in East Java or finding an orangutan in the Borneo rainforest provides new and unique experiences.

Indonesia’s sheer size alone makes it a country of great diversity – one with sublime geography, unparalleled cultural variety and destinations that can easily rival with even the most attractive tropical competitors in the world. Visitors have the option to explore fully developed urbanised cities, be immersed in the country’s culinary encounters or be dazzled by the array of distinctive dishes ranging from rice to noodles, curries, soups, grills and superbly sweet fruits.

With Bali as the ‘jewel’ in the Indonesian tourism crown, this mainly Hindu island has been on the forefront from day one as the undisputed destination for events and getting in touch with the country’s past, present and future. However, Jakarta, the capital, and Yogyakarta, home of the world’s largest Buddhist monument located on a remote hilltop in central Java, are catching up with Bali in popularity. Adventure-seekers often head to the remote jungle and unspoilt islands, teeming with wildlife and inhabited by indigenous tribal groups. Our Indonesia DMC can support you to create the perfect meeting and incetive.
